And it is even a month earlier than I thought it would be in my heart.
Libby is a full time walker. She even got a few new pair of shoes this week. I can’t say she was happy about the shoes. At all. She has not worn shoes one day in all 14 months she has been with us. Until Thursday. Not a fan. I seem to remember thinking I would make sure I had shoes on her all the time from the time she was born so she was used to wearing them when she was finally walking. Never happened. I just love those chubby, bare baby feet. I would say tiny but she has never had tiny feet. At 14 months old, I am buying her a SIZE SIX shoe. Her feet and head are the only big things on her body.
We had a special treat this week because my mom came over for a few days to stay with me and help out with the girls/keep me company while Matthew is at Worship Expo. He has been looking forward to this week for ummm….. 2 years. I can’t wait to hear about his time there when he gets back. And I miss him so much. The girls were thrilled that Grammy was here. Libby has been pointing to and grunting at the pictures of her for a few weeks now. She grunts in syllables, she is really trying to say Grammy.
I have been working on getting the girls’ closets cleaned out. I stay on top of it really well, if I do say so myself, but this week I went ahead and put about 90% of the summer/hot weather clothes in containers. Libby has finally made it to the 12-18 month size so I got all of those clothes hung in her room. Well, 12-18 in tops and dresses only. Pants and shorts are still a 6-12. My little lamb chops.
We also went to the park to watch people fish, have a picnic and let Libby walk around and talk to the birds. She loves birds. Almost as much as she loves cats. I am not a fan of birds. At all. AT ALL. I love to hear them chirp and sing outside but that is where it end. Those talons just gross me out. And since animals know when people don’t like them, birds naturally gravitate towards me. Much like green tree frogs and lizards. I think I got some really cute pictures there, but I can’t be sure just yet.
We have had a busy week and I think we are all worn out. Celie capped off her week by getting to wear her “winter snow” pajamas to bed tonight. It is supposed to be pretty cool here tomorrow night so she is just gearing up. I know I am ready for cooler weather. I am taking advantage of tomorrow night by opening all the windows and finally being able to clean the oven! I can’t wait to air the house out!
